Book Club returns to The Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre this season with facilitators Alex Totillo and Erin Amsler!
What happens when the stories on our stage continue beyond the curtain? This season, we are inviting audience members, readers, theatre lovers, and curious minds to join us for book club. Each book club selection will be paired with one of the plays in our Season 10, giving us a chance to explore themes, ideas, characters, and so much more.
The conversation doesn’t have to end when book club does! Join our Discord channel for book club updates, chat about the book or the play, and keep in touch with book club friends!

Meet the Facilitators
Alex Totillo
Alex Totillo (they/them) is a Tucson born and based theater artist who studied Psychology and Theater at the University of Arizona. Some of their favorite credits include Dramaturg for The Esperanza Dance Project’s House of Hope script and for Amadeus at Winding Road Theater Ensemble, Director of String of Pearls with WRTE, as well as Stage Manager for The Minutes at Live Theater Workshop and for Anita at Borderlands Theater. Alex wrote the monologues Melissa and Willing Participants, which have both been featured in Going IT Alone. You can also catch them as a player in the upcoming TTRPG Actual-Play project Epics of Epochs. Alex’s earliest experience with leading a book club was in elementary school, everyone read and discussed A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Erin Amsler
Erin Amsler (she/her) is an actor, musician, educator, and avid reader originally from Erie, Pennsylvania. Some of Erin’s favorite roles/shows as an actor, stage manager, and sound designer include Birds of North America, Tick, Tick, BOOM!, String of Pearls, Amadeus, POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive, and Where Words Once Were. Erin wrote the monologue Good Soup featured in Invisible Theatre’s 2026 Going IT Alone. She is also a cast member for the Tucson-based TTRPG Actual-Play project Epics of Epochs. Erin is thrilled to partner with Alex and Scoundrel and Scamp to facilitate this book club!
